The Project

According to the Every Day Hero Campaign, an every|day hero is:

Everyday: ordinary, everyday people performing heroic actions for people, organizations and issues

Every Day: being someone willing to be aware and present every day to your surroundings, your environment, and your culture; have your eyes and ears open every day to what circumstances may be in front of you that require action — heroic action!

  1. The connotative meaning of being an Every|Day Hero is to help others when help is needed. I pledge to help others in the best way that I can during what ever time. I have the ambition to help others so with that I will channel all of my positive thoughts and actions and show them as much as possible, reflecting the best version of myself. Being an Every|Day Hero lies within the means of Social Excellence and although we as humans cannot achieve the perfection of Social Excellence, in the process of trying our best to achieve it, we can become an Every|Day Hero. As they say, "There is strength in numbers," so I encourage you to pledge in becoming an Every|Day Hero because you can, and because you are not alone.

  2. I pledge to be and Every|Day Hero. (:
An Every|DayHero to me is someone who isn’t afraid of helping another person in need.I can be on my way to becoming an every|day hero by starting one step at a time. Instead of spreading rumors I can stop them. I can defend someone who’s being bullied and smile at strangers passing by. I’ll always be someone who will listen to anyone’s problems.I’ll try to be the best ME I can be.

  6. An every day hero is someone that makes someones life a little bit easier. it don't necessarily mean that you have to jump in front of a bus to save someone. Although that would be awesome, but like always help people even in the littlest of things. I was at the hospital the other day and this lady came out of the elevator, and i guess she was in a hurry, that she dropped her phone. her phone came apart and i picked it up for her. she thanked me afterwards, cuz if she didnt.... jkjk. haha

  7. An everyday hero is someone who thinks and is sincere about other people's personal belief and opinions. They will think selflessly and look out for anybody big or small. Sometimes even just being a good listener will make you a hero. I helped a friend who needed emotional support when his grandfather passed

  10. An everyday hero is someone who will think of others first before they think of themselves. It would also be someone who will go out of their way beyond ones comfort zone. It is someone that will try and help to fix the problem instead of ignoring the problem. An everyday hero would be the one who listens to your problems even though these problems are not for him/her to carry. To help someone in need even though it's not your problem.

  11. I pledge to be an everyday hero. To me being an everyday hero is just simply doing the right thing whether nobody or everybody is watching you, and also by making somebody's day better and easier by helping them, giving them a hug, giving a compliment, or just a friendly smile.

  12. I pledge to be an everyday hero. Being an everyday hero is someone who stops and helps others. It is someone who does not think of themselves before someone else. In my opinion, an everyday hero is someone who will NOT judge anyone and will take the time to understand someone's situation and be there to help someone whenever and wherever.

  15. To me an everyday hero would be a person who is willing to help a person anytime when needed no matter how small it may be to others, but a big deal for the person in need of help. Also, someone who is willing to stand ou of their comfort zone, emotionally and physically, to help. An everyday hero would chose to do the RIGHT thing over what they WANT to do, which is sometimes the opposite. If your friends are doing something that you know will hurt someone in a certain way, disagree and try to stop it, instead of joining them or walking away like you had nothing to do wih it.

  17. I pledge to be an everyday hero. To me an everyday hero is someone who is willing to help others before they even think about putting themselves first. You need to be willing to actively listen and not criticize that specific person. An everyday hero dosn't mind taking tine out of their day to help someone, no matter how big or small the issue is.

  18. I pledge to be an everyday hero. To me an everyday hero is someone who is there for one another when they need it. For example, today I needed to go get my pills for my low back pain, and the old lady who was right infront of me dropped all her pills. So, I decided to help and pick them off the floor for her because she was an old lady and she couldn't bend all the way down.

  21. I pledge to be an Every|Day hero!! Being an Every|Day hero to me is doing something not because it'll make you been seen as the great person but to make that significant impact on someone in a good way. It means you'll be willing to give respect to those you feel is your enemy or talk to the person no one really hangs out or talks to.

  22. I pledge to be an Every|Day hero! Being an Every|Day hero means to be the hero to someone else. Make their day, do something good for them. Be the one person that asks someone if they need help. Putting them first, which is something very hard for many people to do. Be the savior of someone that needs one.
